The best of luck goes to all the Scottish nominations for the glittering 10th annual RCA Showcase & Awards which is being staged at Hamilton Park on Thursday.

All five courses from north of the border, along with Scottish Racing, are finalists in at least one category after a record 88 submissions were originally put forward.

Musselburgh lead the way with four nominations, while Hamilton Park are hosting this year’s event due to the fact the Lanarkshire track scooped the Champion Award twelve months ago.

Hopefully this time next week there will be news of more Scottish success.

Meanwhile the final action of the year at Ayr takes place on Wednesday when the feature race is the £13,400 Book Now For The Ayrshire Wedding Show Handicap Chase over three miles.

Entries for the race include Bafana Blue and Glittering Love who both boast plenty of winning form.

The former, trained by in-form Maurice Barnes, has won three of his four starts this term while Nicky Richards’ Glittering Love is four from four over fences after scoring three times over course and distance on the back of his chasing debut strike at Hexham in December.

Ayr next race on January 2nd, 2020 with a popular New Year Raceday fixture which is always well attended.

And it was good to see the course retain its Racehorse Owners’ Association Gold Standard Award for another year. The accolade rewards and recognises tracks who provide an excellent experience to owners with a runner on the day.

It’s your last chance to get nominations in for the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards.  With over £120,000 in prize money across six categories the awards recognise and celebrate the remarkable dedication, hard work and passion of the people who provide the best possible care to our horses and people.

Anyone can nominate anyone who is employed in a racing yard or stud directly or indirectly including administrative staff, so please, before November 12th, nominate via https://www.studandstablestaffawards.co.uk/”.
