SUNDAY 1ST DECEMBER

Musselburgh again fly the flag for racing in Scotland with another Monday meeting tomorrow when the feature race is the £10,000 Get So Much More With Racing TV Handicap Chase.

It’s another qualifier for the Northern Lights Middle Distance Chase Series and I see quite a few of the 17 entries have been ‘jocked up’ for the 2m 4f event.

Graystown is due to be ridden by Sam Coltherd after the combination came down at the first at Hexham 12-days ago, while Ross Chapman has been booked by in-form Maurice Barnes for the ride on recent Ayr third Oh No.

Perhaps the most interesting is Swinton Diamond, the ride of Alain Cawley, who hasn’t been seen since winning at Carlisle in October last year. Micky Hammond’s charge is now 4lbs higher and could still be ahead of the handicapper.

Bonnyrigg owner Lynne Maclennan was delighted after her colours were carried to victory by Court Master at Musselburgh on Monday.

It was Mrs Maclennan’s 14th winner of the year and it’s the first time she had been at the track this term to witness the victory. She has ten or twelve horses with Michael, one with Neil Mulholland, a couple in Ireland and quite a few in France.

The Scottish owner quickly enjoyed another success at Fontainebleau on Tuesday with Paolo who is a three-year-old half-brother to high class chaser Frodon, best known for his partnership with Bryony Frost.

It’s a fair bet the Maclennan silks will become and a more and more regular sight in the winners’ enclosure in the weeks and months to come.
