Sean Bowen, about to be crowned champion jockey for the first time, bids to add Perth’s Quinnbet Highland National to his memorable seasonal haul.

The bottom-weight, jointly-trained by his father Peter and brother Michael, is on a hat-trick after wins at Market Rasen and Huntingdon.

Lucinda Russell could play a part in the outcome of the £30,000 prize as she is triple-handed with Inis Oirr, Monochromix and If Not For Dylan, who landed the 2023 renewal when trained by Andrew Hamilton.

Other Scottish interest in the 3m 6f marathon is supplied by Busty Boy (Daragh Bourke) and Prince Des Fichaux (Ewan Whillans).

Tayside owner Jimmy Fyffe has a few fancied runners at his local track including One More Stroke in the Alistair Down Novices’ Handicap Chase.

Trained by Donald McCain and ridden by Brian Hughes, the Cheshire raider has already scored this term when scrambling home by a short-head at Musselburgh in February.
