Esque Elegance bids to follow up her recent all-weather strike with a turf breakthrough at Musselburgh.

The winner of a straight-mile handicap at Newcastle nine-days ago, she steps up to nine-furlongs in the Racing TV Handicap under Conor Whiteley.

Esque Elegance is trained by Stephen Hanlon, who took over the licence at Sun Hill Farm in North Yorkshire on January 1st when Ann Duffield retired.

The card starts with the EBF Restricted Novices Stakes, which sees Karl Burke unleash interesting newcomer Kodi Bear.

Middleham-based Burke sent out 66 juvenile winners in Britain alone last year and this filly carries the well-known colours of Jaber Abdullah.

She will need to be sharp for her debut as her three rivals, including Thirsk runner-up Hickory Lad, all have a run under their belts.

Iain Jardine’s Pivotal Terms is another recent Newcastle scorer and she contests the Virgin Bet Supports Safe Gambling Handicap over five-furlongs.

The Carrutherstown raider showed improved form to open her account by a half a length over six-furlongs on just her fifth start since arriving from Ireland.

Glasses Up may have registered a record eleven wins on the Flat at Ayr but he has also a 1m 6f victory at Musselburgh in 2021 to his name and Mike Smith’s veteran has been aimed at the Edinburgh Rugby Handicap.
