THE Gloaming is gunning for a third course and distance success in the Visit racingtv.com Handicap at Musselburgh on Wednesday night.

Trained by Iain Jardine and ridden by locally-born Andrew Mullen, the Dumfriesshire raider twice scrambled homely a neck at her favourite track in May and October last year.

Jardine said: “Musselburgh just seems to suit her and she’s quite a speedy filly. She’s got a nice draw and fingers crossed she’ll run well again.”

The card opens with the British EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes and Princess Karine catches the eye for Bryan Smart and Graham Lee.

A well-bred newcomer, she has a mixture of pace and stamina in her pedigree and is closely related to Smart’s Royal Ascot scorer Hellvelyn.

Graces Quest is another course and distance winner and she lines up Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Handicap over 1m 4f.

Now running for the second time for Jim Goldie, she was formerly trained by Iain Jardine.
