IAIN JARDINE is hoping for more success with Lastofthecosmics as the Go North Finals weekend gets underway at Musselburgh on Friday.

The Dumfriesshire raider, a recent course and distance winner by a neck, faces 13 rivals in the £30,000 Racing TV Go North Brindisi Breeze Hurdle Series Final.

“Dylan Johnston gave him a nice ride to get up close home last time,” Jardine said. “He’s only a few pounds higher so hopefully he’ll go well again with such decent prize money on offer.”

Among the opposition to Lastofthecosmics are Faithfulflyer, a course and distance scorer for Sandy Thomson in November, and Crossing The Bar, a convincing winner at Plumpton lasts month for Bristol-based handler Neil Mulholland.

In the first feature event, the Racing TV Go North Lady Buttons Mares’ Hurdle Series Final, Stuart Crawford’s Maimie’s Magic is on a hat-trick following her wins at Kelso and Newcastle.

Something has to give in the Racing Post Go North Sea Pigeon Hurdle Series Final as Russian Virtue and Ivetwiggedit are both unbeaten in three starts this term for Rebecca Menzies and Tom Lacey respectively.
