LANGHOLM trainer James Ewart is looking forward to saddling his three Brian Hughes-ridden runners on the Saltire Raceday card at Musselburgh on Monday.

Hold Onto The Line is first into action in the opening Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Chase and his handler said: “The track certainly suits him as he won twice over hurdles at Musselburgh in the spring. He has matured both mentally and physically over the summer and is ready for his chasing debut.”

Next up for Ewart is Fostered Phil in the Athelstaneford – Birthplace Of The Saltire Handicap Hurdle and he added: “We had to give him some time off after he won a maiden hurdle at Newcastle almost years ago. It would be great to have a bit of luck with him over hurdles and maybe also in novice chases.”

The final Craig Farm runner of the afternoon is The Blame Game in the Saltire.Scot Handicap Hurdle and his trainer said: “He was disappointing at Bangor but during the summer we discovered he required wind surgery so hopefully that will begin to help him.

He’s had one runner in a chase but he is likely to keep to handicap hurdling for now.”
