Gordon Brown – Race Reporter

Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.

Martin Todhunter is hoping the step back up in trip will see Jet Legs regain the winning thread at Musselburgh in the Famous Five Handicap Chase.

The Cumbria raider races off a successful mark as he contests the three-mile chase under Ryan Mania.

“It’s his first visit to the track so hopefully he will adapt to the place and we’ve given him a little break,” Todhunter said. “Most of his wins have come over three miles or further and he seems to act on any ground.”

Rivals to Jet Legs include Jus De Citron, who made an encouraging chasing debut at Newcastle, and class-dropping Special Rate for Northumberland-based Scot Hugh Burns.

A lot of eyes will be drawn to Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville as the partnership team up for two runners on the card.

Well-fancied Cheltenham contender Fantasy World is a short-priced favourite in the opening maiden hurdle.

A Listed winner on the Flat for Andrew Balding, he makes his debut for Henderson and is already around fifth favourite for next month’s Triumph Hurdle.

The dream team also combine with five-time winner  Lelantos in the three-mile handicap hurdle.

Fresh from a return-to-form treble at Kelso on Friday, Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore are double-handed in the two-mile handicap hurdle with Magic Gloves Canavan.

The former is a winning point to pointer while Gregor Walkingshaw bids for his first winner as a conditional jockey aboard the latter.
