Kelso – Preview 18th November 2025

Gordon Brown – Race Reporter

Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.

Callum Bewley will be looking to turn the clock back as he partners Adveram in the Jumps Looks Better On Racing TV Novices’ Handicap Chase.

Just over 35-minutes after scoring on Iain Duncan’s gelding at Ayr last October, Bewley suffered serious injuries to his thumb and ankle in a beat race fall from Love That, which saw him sidelined for a lengthy period.

“That win at Ayr more than a year ago was over hurdles and I’ve ridden him since when he was third on his chasing debit at Carlisle,” he said. “I then had the added complication of a reoccurrence of an old shoulder problem so it was a frustrating time.

“It’s great to be back and I’ve had a good run lately – I had doubles at both Carlisle and Newcastle last week. Lots of trainers have been very supportive and the help with physio and rehabilitation supplied by Jack Berry House was second to one and I can’t thank them enough.”

In a wide-open qualifier for the Go North Forgive N Forget Series, Adveram faces stern competition from the likes of Nick Alexander trio Eloi Du Puy, Orkney Blue and My Lady Elektra while Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore are double-handed with I Wish You and Golden Point.
