FLORIDA FILLY is a much shorter price as she bids to follow up her recent shock course and distance win at Hamilton Park on Saturday night.

Iain Jardine’s charge, who was the 40-1 outsider of the field when making all 16-days ago, is one of the market leaders under Paul Mulrennan in the Margaret McCluskey Memorial Celebrations EBF Restricted Novice Stakes.

Jardine said: “She wasn’t such much a surprise to us as the penny had gradually been dropping for her. We think she’s still improving and she is a half sister to Orlaith, also owned by Jimmy Fyffe, who won a Listed race at Newbury three years ago.”

Astapor, one of eight declared for the Jordan Electrics Handicap, produced an even bigger Hamilton upset in early June as won over six-furlongs at a record-equalling 200-1 for his Lancashire trainer John Riches.

He is one of six British Flat winners at that price that have been produced in the last two centuries.

Daniel Muscutt, whose only previous ride at the track was back in 2017, has three booked rides including Ed Dunlop-trained Muhtashim in the Jordan Electrics Established 1975 Handicap.
