Hamilton Park – Preview 17th July 2025

Gordon Brown – Race Reporter

Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.

Danny Tudhope is hoping his faith in Theoryofeverything will pay off in the £30,000 feature race at Hamilton Park.

The good-looking five-year-old, trained by David O’Meara, bids to follow up his recent strike at Ayr in the Wellman Cars Private Hire Almada Mile Handicap.

“It was a good effort at Ayr and I think he’s definitely improved this season,” Tudhope said. “He’s had wind surgery, which has helped too, but he’s changed this year and is a lot sharper.

“I liked his attitude last time and hopefully there is a bit more about him this year. With a bit of luck there will be more improvement to come in nice handicaps over a mile.”

In a small but select field, Roger Varian’s lively May course and distance scorer Sallaal is another interesting contender. At one stage he held three Group 1 entries including in this year’s Betfred Derby and he currently holds an engagement for the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York next month.

Tracy Waggott’s filly Miss Rainbow is in great form and the County Durham raider bids to extend her winning sequence to four-in-a-row in the Phoenix Drilling Ground Investigation Handicap over the minimum trip.

She started her spree over five-furlongs at Thirsk before scoring over seven-furlongs at Catterick and then successfully dropped back to six-furlongs at Newcastle to complete a 21-day hat-trick.
