Jim Goldie bids for a fourth success in the feature race at Hamilton Park’s opening evening and of the season on Friday night.
His two-time winner Sir Chauvelin is in the line-up for the £30,000 Palmaris Services Braveheart Handicap, an event the Uplawmoor trainer has also won in the past with Theglasgowwarrior.
Goldie said: “He’s ten now but he’s holding his form well and he won three times on the all-weather during the winter. He’s a full brother to Euchen Glen, who goes to Sandown later this month next to try and win the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes again so hopefully he’ll do well back on turf too.”
There is little at the head of the betting between Tribal Art and Farham with the former already coming a close second at the Lanarkshire course 12-days ago in the Buttonhook Handicap for Mark and Charlie Johnston.
Farham, trained by John Butler, won the prestigious November Handicap at Doncaster last season and is just the second Hamilton Park runner for his Newmarket handler.
Leading track trainer Keith Dalgleish won the 2021 Braveheart Stakes with Alright Sunshine and he is represented by Heights Of Abraham.
Scotland’s top jumps trainer Lucinda Russell, who has one course win to her name, saddles Ballyare in the Hamilton Palmaris Hire Services William Wallace Handicap
