FAYE AND LINDA TEAM UP FOR AYR OPENER.

It’s Scottish Sun Ladies Night at Ayr Racecourse tonight (Saturday) with the seven race card kicking off with a race for female jockeys only.

The Tennent’s Lager Lady Riders’ Handicap (For Professional and Amateur Female Jockeys) has become a traditional feature of the night and East Kilbride based trainer Linda Perratt has secured the services of Faye McManoman to ride Retirement Beckons who finished second at the track on Monday.

Faye is one of the more experienced riders in the race having won the 2020 running of the Ayr Bronze Cup on Roundhay Park.

Wrecked It Ralph was successful at Ayr 12 days ago when he broke his duck on his ninth start and he can go close again in the Made Brave Handicap at 6.15pm for Galston trainer Mike Smith and jockey Paddy Mathers.

Mike also runs five time course winner Flying Moon in the Scottish Sun Handicap over 1m 2fat 6.45pm with Andrew Breslin riding and takes on stablemate Royal Regent who is a six time course winner.

Jim Goldie continues in terrific form and his runners tonight include Water Of Leith in the Scottish Sun On Sunday Handicap over six furlongs at 7.45pm. The Paul Mulrennan ridden gelding won at the track on Monday.
