EVALUATION, ridden by Hawick-born Jason Hart, is in line for a £100,000 bonus after his second Sky Bet Sunday Series win in the Stayers Handicap at Musselburgh yesterday.

The six-figure pot is awarded to the connections of the first horse who reaches three victories during the series and Scottish-owned Eilean Dubh, trained by Karl Burke, has also won twice so far in this year’s competition.

Evaluation, now four from four since joining Keith Dalgleish, was formerly trained by Sir Michael Stoute bred by the Queen.

He now carries the colours of Hamilton Park chairman Sir Ian Good, who owns the gelding in partnership with his daughter Catriona and cost 30,000gn at Tattersalls Sales last October.

The same owners and trainer doubled up in the Sunday Series Middle Distance Handicap when Ryan Sexton-partnered El Picador scored at 8-1.

He was also sourced from Stoute, who won the Derby for the sixth time with Desert Crown just 24 hours earlier.

El Picador has now won three timer on the Flat and once over hurdles since arriving at Dalgleish’s Carluke yard.
