Gordon Brown – Race Reporter

Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.

GEOFF ADAM was all smiles after seeing his colours carried to victory by Millarville at Musselburgh on Wednesday.

The 5-1 chance, ridden by Ryan Mania and trained jointly by Harriet Graham and Gary Rutherford, made most of the running before holding off Cancun by a neck in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.

Borders-based Adam owns the nine-year-old along with wife Elspeth and he said: “She’s done really well and this trip suited her much better. The distance was too short at Newcastle and one day she will make a lovely broodmare.”

Adam is already getting excited at the thought of seeing his pride and joy Aye Right running in the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup on March 18th.

He added: “It’s just brilliant having a runner in the Gold Cup and I won’t be able to contain myself if he’s still bowling along coming down the hill for the final time. He’s such a fantastic jumper that he might just surprise a few people.”

There was a nail-biting finale to the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Chase when Izzy’s Champion, trained by Lucinda Russell and ridden by Derek Fox, clung on by a nose from the fast-finishing Clear The Runway.
