Lucinda Russell enjoyed her first Flat winner at Musselburgh last night when Red Missile landed the £12,000 Bet At Racing TV.Com Handicap over 1m 5f in the hands of Shane Gray.
The 12-1 outsider of the race carries the colours of Michael & Lady Jane Kaplan, who said: “These are the colours that won the Derby five times for my grandfather and great-grandfather. It’s a great thrill to win at Musselburgh as it was the first racecourse I came to as a young girl.”
Fresh from winning Saturday’s Northumberland Plate, Jim Goldie was on the mark as Primo’s Comet gained a fourth course and distance success in the Visit RacingTV.com Handicap.
Paul Mulrennan gave the Uplawmoor-trained winner a peach of a waiting ride as the partnership got the better of veteran Economic Crisis by three-quarters of a length.
