SPARKS FLY extended her unbeaten turf record to six with an impressive victory in the £20,000 feature race at Ayr on Sunday.

A first winner at the track for both jockey Laura Parson and trainer David Loughnane, the 5-2 favourite slammed front-running Alpha Sierra by nearly two-lengths in the Book Bounce Bingo At Ayr Racecourse Handicap.

“She is just so progressive and she just keeps on improving and improving,” Pearson said. “She went to her left and just does her own thing but I’d say she had a fair bit left so there is more to come.”

Renfrewshire-based Jim Goldie struck with a stunning 380-1 treble courtesy of One Last Hug, his younger full brother Braes Of Doune and Banner Road.
