Ayr – Report 4th May 2023

Gordon Brown – Race Reporter

Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.

Connor Beasley scooped the £10,000 cheque for leading jockey at Musselburgh’s recent Sky Bet Sunday card and he has a decent book of rides including Havegomecca in the weatherbysshop.co.uk Handicap over five-furlongs.

Meanwhile Jim Goldie started the new Ayr season in style on Thursday when bagging a quick-fire double in the opening two races with Cosa Sara and Jordan Electrics.

Mark Winn was on board the former in the Luxury Staycations At Western House Hotel Apprentice Handicap while Paul Mulrennan did the steering on Jordan Electrics in the Ayrshire Cancer Support Handicap.

“It’s always great to have a winner or two at Ayr and it’s a track we do out best to support,” Goldie said. “No doubt we will have plenty of runners here throughout the year.”
