IAIN JARDINE and Andrew Mullen were all smiles after the pair completed a near 11-1 double at Ayr on Monday with Kats Bob and Paddy The Squire.

The former was an all-the-way winner of the Staycations At Western House Hotel Handicap while the latter opened his account in the Ayr & District Flower Show Handicap.

Speaking about Paddy The Squire, Mullen said: “He’s a lovely young prospect and the Lanark Silver Bell at Hamilton could be the very race as it’s a valuable handicap and he’s gets the three-year-old allowance.”

Jardine added of Kats Bob: “Andrew said he didn’t mean to make the running but one or two of the others missed the kick. He only ran on Friday night at York so we’ll see where he goes next after this.”

Other Scottish wins on the card came courtesy of Gainsbourg (Daragh Bourke), Ayr Poet (Jim Goldie) and Ski Angel (Mike Smith).
