Ryan Mania maintained his tremendous hot-streak with a double at Ayr on Monday aboard Donna’s Double and Storm Nelson.

Both were trained by Sandy Thomson as they won the Karaoke At The Golf Inn Novices’ Handicap Chase and Gold Inn Prestwick Handicap Hurdle respectively.

Mania, who has a treble at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day, has been successful on his last eight completed rides and he said:

“The stable has been in great form and it has been terrific team work from everyone back home. Donna’s Double has really been helped by the wind surgery and Sandy has his this race in mind for Storm Nelson for some time – he’s a horse that stays really strongly.”

Daryl Jacob and Stuart Crawford also recorded a double with Gold Cup Bailly and L Anamour in the double green colours of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.

“Gold Cup Bailly is a lovely prospect and I always knew he would stay three miles today,” Jacob said. “I had company for a while up front today but his jumping is so impressive it takes a good one to stay with him.”
