The longest parish church in Scotland, St Mary's in Haddington is one of the three great medieval churches of the Lothians.


Open to visitors for the Easter weekend (no tearoom or shop) and then from 1 May to the end of September, from 11:00 till 16:00, except Sunday (14:00 till 16:30) with guide, tea room and shop (no shop on Sundays). Brass rubbing on request.

Two massive hangars, part of a World War II airfield, are packed with aeroplanes, rockets, models and memorabilia. The museum is the home of Concorde G-BOAA, following her epic final voyage by land and sea from Heathrow.

Prestongrange is a site of major importance in the story of Scotland's Industrial Revolution.

It was the location of a sixteenth century harbour, a seventeenth century glass works, eighteenth and nineteenth century potteries and a nineteenth/twentieth century coal mine and brick works. Remnants of these former industries can still be seen.

With its distinctive conical-roofed kiln and red pantiled buildings, it’s no wonder Preston Mill is so popular with artists and photographers. The nearby millpond with resident ducks and geese completes the idyllic rural scene.

You can see and hear the mechanism of the mill in action and learn about the millers who worked there from the exhibition on site. After a picnic lunch, wander past the millpond to the unusual doocot, once home to 500 birds.
