Cheltenham FestivalScottish runners may be thin on the ground at the Cheltenham Festival - but there will be one or two with excellent chances. The horse with the best chance of the week has to be Wild Cane Ridge, who has been aimed at the Pertemps Hurdle on Thursday by Len Lungo. Len scored in the same race with Freetown in 2002 and like that horse, Wild Cane Ridge is also returning to the smaller obstacles having been chasing. Don't rule out Natiain, trained in Galashiels by Alistair Brown, who could run a big race in the Foxhunter, run over the same course and distance as the Gold Cup on Friday. Several horses that have been winning at the Scottish tracks will also have good chances. The Nicky Richards trained Middleton Dene, a dual winner at Musselburgh holds a good chance in the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle on Friday. Meanwhile, Perth winner Tamarinbleu will be well fancied for either the Queen Mother Champion Chase or the Ryanair Chase. Keep an eye out for any runners from the James Ewart stable, which has hit red-hot form. He may not have any runners at the festival, but is quite likely to crop up at one of the other venues over the same period - remember to take a look through the card at Hexham.
